Epoxy.com Product #12
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Chemical Resistant Epoxy Primer and Epoxy Floor
Sealer Product #12 is a two component, seamless 100% solids epoxy primer
system with High Chemical Resistance and High Bond Strength.
The epoxy may be applied as a primer for most High End Industrial coatings.
Product #12 Chemical Resistant Epoxy Primer and Epoxy Floor Sealer is also
commonly used as a fabric layup epoxy resin in carbon fiber composite and
fiberglass composite materials, as an epoxy mortar resin and as a consolidator
to toughen wood.
APPLICATIONS
Chemical Resistant Epoxy Primer and Epoxy Floor
Sealer Product #12 can be
used as a primer and as a composite fabric layup resin, and an epoxy mortar
resin.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Surface to receive Chemical Resistant Epoxy Primer and Epoxy Floor
Sealer Product #12 must be clean and sound. Remove all dirt, laitance,
grease curing compounds and other foreign matter by sandblasting, mechanical abrasion. If
acid etching is used follow with abrasive or mechanical abrasion. Remove water and dust
from all surfaces with an oil free blast, or vacuum, immediately prior to application.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
Temperature of Chemical Resistant Epoxy Primer and Epoxy Floor
Sealer Product #12 must be 65 degrees F or above at time
of mixing. Stir each component separately before blending. Mix two parts by volume of Part
A with one part by volume of Part B for three minutes with a low speed electric drill
motor equipped with a mixing paddle.
APPLICATION
Chemical Resistant Epoxy Primer and Epoxy Floor
Sealer Product #12 can be applied with brush, roller, trowel, airless
sprayer or squeegee. Apply a coat of Product #12 to surface to be finished. Average application
rate is 200 square feet per gallon on smooth concrete. Contact Epoxy.com
technical support for
information on how to adjust application rate to account for a substrate that is more
porous, or has more texture. For more information before installing please see
installation tips.
If anti-skid is required, or to improve trowelablilty of the next
coat, it may be broadcast with aggregate (while epoxy is still wet). This can be done by
hand or mechanical means. Allow them to dry. Then sweep off excess aggregate. Sand surface
(if required) to desired texture. It may be left a final sealer or you may install other
high end top-coats over the Product #12 at a rate as recommended by that material.
LIMITATIONS
New concrete to receive Chemical Resistant Epoxy Primer and Epoxy Floor
Sealer Product #12 (and epoxy layup resin) should be at least 28 days old. Temperature of
substrate must be above 55° F. DO NOT thin. For outdoor use contact
Epoxy.com for technical assistance.
