EpoxySystems'™
Product # 680 DESCRIPTIONEpoxySystems Product #680 Polymer Concrete methyl methacrylate (mma) reactive resin is used as a binder to develop polymer concrete which produces extremely high strength and chemical resistance with an abrasion resistant surface. EpoxySystems Product #680 is prepackaged and preproportioned for easy mixing and placing at the job site. The liquid polymer and the preproportioned hardener filler is mixed either in the polyethylene bag or in a mortar mixer.
ADVANTAGES
· May be used in temperatures as low as 15°F (-9.5°C) to a depth of 1” (24.5mm).Thinner sections such as 1/2” (12.7mm) or 1/4” (6.35 mm) will take longer to set. EpoxySystems’ pot hole patching or thicker overlays, 3/8” or 1/8” dry aggregate may be added for economy. (Depending on requirements 50% to 100% aggregate.) · Mixes easily; no tools required. It is preproportioned, eliminating measuring the many components incorporated to produce polymer concrete. · Can be used year round at temperatures as low as 15°F (-9.5°C) · Has high compressive, flexural, and tensile splitting strengths. · May be applied as thin as 1/4”. · Is not affected by freeze-thaw cycles and is chemically resistant to sulfates, deicing chemicals, and acids. · Cure time is 45 minutes to 2 hours. It produces 10,000 to 12,000 p.s.i, depending upon ambient temperatures. · Tools, such as trowels, can be cleaned in liquid polymer (supplied as Component A) or EpoxySystems’ Tool and Equipment Cleaner. · Patching and overlays can be accomplished even in winter months. SURFACE PREPARATION
All laitance, grease, curing compound residue, or any other contaminants must be removed by either sandblasting, wire brushing, or any other suitable means. Areas to receive EpoxySystems Product #680 must be dry. PRIMING
For best results, EpoxySystems Product #681Primer should be used. To prime surface, mix Component A and Component B (white initiator) and apply to the prepared surface by brush or roller. Apply primer at the rate of 50-100 SF (9.29 m2) per gallon, depending on porosity of surface. (Weight of mixed primer is 8.4 lbs. ± .2 lbs/gallon.) MIXING
Pour Component A (liquid mma) into polyethylene bag containing Component B (hardener filler). APPLICATION Place material into area to be patched. Finish with wood float, steel trowel, or screed.
COVERAGE A 68# unit (30.91 kg) EpoxySystems Product #680 will yield 1/2 cubic foot which will cover 15.2 SF at 3/8” (9.53 mm) thick, neat. PACKAGING EpoxySystems Product #681 PRIMER PACKAGED FOLLOWS: Component A (liquid mma) in 1/2 gallon, 1 gallon, and 5 gallon containers. EpoxySystems Product #680 POLYMER CONCRETE is packaged in a 68# Unit consist of 1 gallon Component A (liquid MMA) and a 60# polyethylene bag of Component B (Hardener filler) LIMITATIONS Areas receiving EpoxySystems Product #680 must be well ventilated. Surfaces to receive EpoxySystems Product #680 must be DRY. The material has a limited shelf life of 2 to 4 months in originally sealed cans. CAUTION Component A is highly flammable.
